The rocky walls begin to angle off more sharply here, but still hang

down over the valley to give a sort of protection from the elements.

The hard-packed sand it extremely hot, making standing in any one

place for too long uncomfortable. Despite the whirling clouds of dust,

a village can be seen to the east, nestled between the valley walls

and shielded from at least part of the desert's relentless wrath.
