This rancid alleyway is claustrophobic and unsettling. Trash is ankle-

deep on the ground, and occasionally something squishy and wet can be

felt underfoot. Bloodstains are frequent on the crumbling walls,

adding a certain je-ne-sais-quoi to this fine place. To the west, a

tall iron fence leads into a dark, frightening park, and to the east

stands a barred, gloomy institution. The alley continues to the north

and south.
