This broad ledge is nearly concealed from the cave above, even though

it is only ten or so feet below it. Covered in a layer of sand, this

ledge is exposed to the harsh desert winds, which blow clouds of sand

up blindingly. It would actually be fairly easy to climb back up to

the cave above, as the mountain wall here has been worn in places so

as to allow handholds. The desert glares oppressively about a thousand

feet below this ledge.
