This rough tunnel is made of reddish-brown stone, with an uneven floor
and ceiling. It twists and bends seemingly at random, becoming wider
then thinner, sometimes small enough that crawling is necessary, at
other times being large enough for a half-dozen men to walk through
side by side. Here, however, it comes to an abrupt and puzzling halt.
