Since the heavy combat along the Forest Road had made a severe mark on Trade it was some time before the people of Silvermere realized that slim trade had turned into none, Kulgar had Barricaded the road to protect his own Kingdom and the Council of the Five Kingdoms was broken. The first foray of the forces of Albion was the dispatch through the hidden sally port in the sewers of a party of the most stealthy of the kings scouts, followed closely by a company of heavy infantry through the city gate. The scouts reported that the organized Thieves and Rogues withdrew to the north in the face of a deliberately noisy force. The King dispatched a company of light infantry along with magical support troops to reinforce the Half-Ogre force and the assembly followed a well worn path north from the road from a place near the peculiar Blue Tower of the merchant Jorah. Beating off nuisance attacks by goblin archers the force found it's way to a Huge Cave, the apparent source of the organized banditry. Hoisting torches and lanterns the Light Infantry led the way and swept aside a determined but doomed guard of Goblins and fought deep into the barracks of Ogre Guards and Warriors where they took some unpleasantly severe losses. Due to the narrow passages the brave Half-Orcs were unable to support each other and the heavier forces and magical support were unable to come quickly forward. Once the force was able to properly array itself they swept forward and cleared all the Cave of hostile forces. Or so they thought, for the Huge Cave has many hidden places.
