Looking on in wonder the King could only pray his thanks to an unknown ally, succor his wounded and gather his honored dead. The smoldering ruins were too dangerous to enter so the King posted a guard of elven scouts and
gathered his battered army for the return to Silvermere. On the slow and painful march back down the Ravaged Path the King was met by a messenger bringing news of yet another foul blow in Silvermere. A raiding party
had struck secretly within the walls. The Queen lay in the Temple severely wounded, the Government house was sacked, much of the Household Guard was dead and the Kings Children stolen away.
