The King rushed on ahead of his army with only a small guard and at the Silvery Pool was met by another messenger. The Ranger Skarlock had led the troops of Orfeo and Morukai as well as Doggie Doober and the survivors of the Household Guard into the southern suburb and into caverns they had discovered beneath the
house of a recently founded Cult. No word had come back from them for several days and no traces of them had been found by the few brave Militiamen who had returned from the search. The Kings return to Silvermere was a gloomy one. The city was in good condition , the defenses were once again strongly manned but few smiles were to be seen on the streets. Scouts reported no hostile activity East or West, North or South, but the pall of dread that hung over the City was paralyzing.

After about a week Silvermere was rocked by a slight tremor in the earth and smoke was seen to rise from Cult House tinting it black. None of the Kings scriers could tell what it meant other than that there were great
forces involved.
