Skarlock led the way through the Dreary Village and onto the road through the Kher Grass fields before a massive Black Fortress. It was clear that a party this size could not force the gate. Then Skarlock did a remarkable thing, removing the eyepatch from above his scarred left cheek he revealed a glittering crystal orb set into his ruined eye socket. He stood studying the Black Fortress with this magic eye for several minutes then returned the eyepatch and led the party south into the seemingly impassible fields and to a path that led to a secret side door to the Fortress. By stealth, guile and a certain charm they defeated the defenders in these shadowy passages and slew the triumvirate of Dark Lords, each in their own offices.
