The forbidding forest north of Silvermere is an even more

ominous cousin of the eastern Darkwood forest. Its trees are

packed tightly together, as if suspiciously and consciously

forming a wall to keep out intruders. A sense of ancient

watchfulness pervades the air surrounding this oldest of

woods, and there appears to be no place to land at its foot.
